Comarch Given Gold Antenna Award for Next Generation Service Management

7:03 am   -   March 25th, 2009

Comarch has received the Gold Antenna (“Z?ota Antena”) award for Comarch Next Generation Service Management, which was recognized as “Product of the Year 2009″ in the category of Telecommunications Operator Solutions. This is Comarch’s second “Gold Antenna”.

The “World of Telecommunications” magazine’s contest is an event which brings into the spotlight the people and companies with achievements in the field of telecommunications. Its purpose is also to promote and propagate Polish products, solutions and technological innovations.

The members of the jury are independent experts, noted market pundits and representatives of the publisher and editorial office of the “World of Telecommunications” (?wiat Telekomunikacji) monthly. This year the prizes and “Gold Antennas” have been granted in ten categories.

- “The Gold Antenna of the World of Telecommunications” is a very important and prestigious prize for us – says Piotr Pi?tosa, Vice President of the Board, Head of the Telecommunications Business Unit, Comarch SA. – The first “Antenna” was granted to Comarch for the Tytan Billing System (at present the Comarch BSS Suite). This year it is ‘Comarch Next Generation Service Management’, belonging to the Comarch OSS Suite portfolio. Comarch NGSM allows for managing services and resources in cutting-edge telecommunications networks – Next Generation Networks (NGN) – as well as in the case of convergent IP networks. These networks provide advanced IP-based telecommunications services which constitute the key elements of the information society. Next Generation Networks are being created in various countries by partly private and partly public consortia. The entity to be made responsible for the network and the rules for building it are the subject of a public debate in Poland also. By offering a solution for managing NGN, Comarch becomes a potential participant in future projects – adds Piotr Pi?tosa.

Comarch Next Generation Service Management is an innovative OSS (Operations Support Systems) product, dedicated to telecommunications operators who want to improve their efficiency and competitiveness. The project in PTC (T-Mobile Group) made a considerable contribution to the development of Comarch Next Generation Service Management. Since Comarch is flexible with regard to the needs of the market and its customers, the implementation in PTC significantly shaped the development of the solution.

At present Comarch OSS Suite products are being implemented in large operators (T-Mobile, O2, PTC/Era) and prepared for implementation in another leading international operator.
