ON Telecoms Implements Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management

Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL) has announced that ON Telecoms, a new communications service provider in Greece, has implemented Oracle(R) Communications Billing and Revenue Management to expedite its entry into the triple-play market. Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management provides ON Telecoms with a flexible, comprehensive billing application. Oracle Acquires MetaSolv

MetaSolv, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSLV), a global leader in service fulfillment operations support system (OSS) solutions for next-generation communications service providers, has announced that Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) has agreed to acquire MetaSolv through a cash merger for $4.10 per share, or approximately $219.2 million. Oracle Outlines Roadmap for Comprehensive Service Delivery Platform for Telecommunications Industry

The new Oracle(R) SDP is being designed to enable communication service providers, network operators and system integrators to evolve current silo-based network investments into a service-oriented architecture (SOA) and shrink the time and cost to deploy new voice data and integrated multimedia services on existing and next-generation communication Internet Protocol (IP) networks. Oracle Buys Portal Software

Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) today announced that it will acquire Portal Software, Inc. (OTC BB: PRSF.PK), a leading global provider of billing and revenue management solutions for the communications and media industry, through a cash tender offer for $4.90 per share, or approximately $220 million.

“The combination of Oracle and Portal delivers the first end-to-end packaged enterprise software suite for the communications industry,” said Oracle’s President Charles Phillips. “We supply technology and applications to over 90% of communications companies worldwide today, and billing is a logical and complementary addition for those customers.”

Oracle has had a long commitment to the communications industry. 17 of the top 20 most profitable communications companies run Oracle applications. Additionally Oracle’s Siebel Telecom applications have become the standard for telco call centers and customer care. Oracle Database 10g is the leading relational database and TimesTen is the most widely used in-memory database for the communications industry.
