BEA Systems and Partners to Showcase Telecom Technology and Next-Generation IMS Services at GLOBALCOMM 2006

8:44 pm   -   June 6th, 2006

BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS - News), a world leader in enterprise and communications infrastructure software, together with Ericpol Telecom, HP, IMS Stream, Intel, and MobileAware invites you to see several demonstrations of their IMS solutions at GLOBALCOMM 2006, Booth #51048, scheduled to be held at the McCormick Convention Center Chicago, June 5-7, 2006.

Demonstrations in the BEA booth are scheduled to include the following examples of innovative new services which have been developed and deployed on the BEA WebLogic Communications Platform(TM) product family, including BEA WebLogic Network Gatekeeper(TM), and BEA WebLogic SIP Server(TM), the industry’s first converged Java EE and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) application server providing native support for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA):

- Karaoke Powered by HP and BEA

Unleash your inner rock star with this exciting demonstration designed to illustrate the power of HP OpenCall Media Platform (OCMP) and BEA WebLogic SIP Server running on Intel AdvancedTCA hardware designed to enable fun, new services in an IMS or pre-IMS environment. Record a song, then share with your friends. Multiple users may register their karaoke recordings, and then any number of users may listen and vote on the best recording. The system is designed to allow for the creation of competitions where contestants can register and be judged by others.

- Mobile Content Delivery Solution Powered by Dual-Core Intel® Xeon®

Processor 5100 series (Previously Codenamed “Woodcrest”), Featuring

MobileAware and Other Partners
This solution is designed to leverage BEA WebLogic Portal(TM), BEA WebLogic Server(TM), BEA WebLogic Network Gatekeeper(TM), BEA WebLogic Mobility Server (TM), BEA JRockit, MobileAware’s Fulfillment Manager Download Server and other partner technologies for rendering the mobile portal and downloading digital content to a wide range of mobile devices. In this demonstration, the end user can discover online and downloadable content such as audio, video and games from their mobile device. Once a content item is selected, a reference to the content can be pushed to the device, initiating the download of the content to the mobile device and the associated authorization and billing process.

Network operations can effectively manage content and ongoing campaigns to increase ARPU through an SOA-based Mobile Content Delivery Solution powered by Dual-Core Intel Xeon Processor 5100 series based servers. This is designed to provide network operators a highly scalable, reliable and cost-effective infrastructure to deploy enhanced services. This demonstration shows an operator’s view of the content activity in their network via portal, laptop, or mobile device. Additionally, it can illustrate online monitoring of campaigns, uptime, traffic flow, usage/activity reports for third party content developers, and real-time assessment of campaigns.

- Presence Enabled Video/Audio Conferencing featuring IMS Stream

See how innovative IMS services can be implemented on BEA WebLogic SIP Server, such as voice and video conferencing, and learn how leveraging presence capabilities can help improve customer service and employee productivity.

- IMS prepaid solution featuring Ericpol Telecom

Experience how IMS prepaid for both residential and business markets can be powered by BEA WebLogic SIP Server and BEA AquaLogic Service Bus. Demonstration is designed to feature provisioning of prepaid multimedia and multi-session features for a user and service delivery or termination based on prepaid constrains. Services can be provisioned with different charging options that impact service delivery. Learn about event-based charging and see how hotels can deliver IMS Video On Demand. The system is designed to help increase revenue and help lower customer relationship management costs to operators at the same time delivering a solution designed to provide the ability to better manage budgets to end users.
