Astellia Monitors South American Mobile Networks

12:27 am   -   September 5th, 2008

Astellia is expanding in South America. From the beginning of 2008, Astellia won two main new customers there: one in Chile and one in Colombia.

A large Operator in Chile appointed Astellia earlier this year to audit its GSM and UMTS (3G) network. The Astellia solution is compatible and complements the Operator’s internal tools. It gives the operational optimization team a complete picture of customers’ behavior and of the network QoS.

That customer primarily appreciates the fact that a single non-intrusive and vendor-independent solution provides roaming statistics and information per handset type. With it, he can monitor the core and the access network alike.

Astellia has been contracted by another tier one operator in Colombia to perform an audit of its GSM network. This operator wishes to benchmark and check the behavior of its network after a swap to a new equipment manufacturer due to NGN migration.

After giving a snapshot of the network and delivering a detailed troubleshooting report, Astellia makes recommendations to further optimize and improve network performance.

Astellia will soon be participating in 2 exhibitions in South America. Meet their experts there! Please mark your calendars for these events:

*** AmericasCom, 9-10 September 2008, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and

*** FutureCom, 27-30 October 2008, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
