Astellia is Looking Forward to 2009 with Confidence Because of a 20% Growth in 2008

4:18 pm   -   February 13th, 2009

Today, Astellia announced turnover of 24.9 MEuros (as of today, USD $32.0M) for 2008, which is an increase of 20 percent.

These excellent results are due mainly to the company’s advance into new territories and the development of mobile networks in terms of traffic volume and technological advances. Astellia signed contracts with 17 new operator Clients in 2008 despite the economic crisis and the competitive pressures resulting from the falling US dollar.

The international market accounted for 66% of company turnover in 2008, more than in 2007. The company’s increasing globalization is partly due to its ability to support existing clients in new geographical markets. At the same time, Astellia has won market shares by attracting new international operators enjoying significant expansion.

In France, sales with French Clients have been maintained thanks to the development of the installations required to face the increases in traffic after the marked success of 3G and thanks, also, to the extension in consulting services provided by Astellia.

Prospects for 2009

Despite the difficult economic climate, there are several factors that enable Astellia to look forward to 2009 with confidence. The company’s solutions are always innovative. Now they are converging monitoring results (rich KPIs captured by our Ocean probes and processed by our Cigale engines) and network equipment counters (OMC) to provide operators with correlated information from both sources. The product range has also been extended recently by an expert system for automated diagnosis, troubleshooting and network optimization.

Christian Queffelec, CEO and co-founder of Astellia, commented, “Our solutions meet operators’ current requirements. The management of mobile network performance is a means of optimizing costs and investments. Moreover, the increase in traffic and the need to ensure subscriber loyalty strengthens the support for systems that can improve Quality of Service. At a time of budget restrictions and limited profit margins, these factors strengthen our resolve to support the competitiveness of our solutions and continue our international expansion. Astellia is well-equipped to do just that.”

The firm will be participating in the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona (Spain) from 16th to 19th February 2009. There will be live demos of their unique T&A Xpert expert system at the event. Please visit their stand 1B12 (Hall 1) .
