Astellia Brings 3G Radio Access into the Mobile Broadband Arena

8:05 am   -   July 22nd, 2008

Astellia’s monitoring solution enhanced its 3G capabilities to enhance the quality of data services by combined analysis of IP level and radio level.

Mobile data services usage is taking off thanks to attractive offers and the introduction of new technologies: HSDPA and HSUPA. Radio access needs to be tuned to provide an optimum QoS/QoE securing the adoption of these strategic data services.

Based on the analysis of subscribers’ real traffic on Iub and Iur interfaces, the key performance indicators (KPIs) from Astellia Iub solution weight failures in order to set troubleshooting priorities.

IP services investigation allows operators to discover the causes of poor QoS in packet services (due to radio or servers). This is reached by using the combined analysis of radio and IP levels. Advanced packet services troubleshooting on Iub user plane offers:

*** Packet Service Data Record summing-up access to single services by single subscribers;

*** IP call trace; and

*** Chart mixing evolution in time during a session of radio level measurements and IP level measurements.

Moreover, HSDPA and HSUPA statistics per cell are provided including mobility profile and stability indicators.

Astellia Iub monitoring solution brings high-end troubleshooting features to speed up investigations. A time-saving top-down investigation methodology seamlessly leads the user - starting from high-level KPIs down to protocol decoding.
