Argent Networks Deploys Fully converged Billing Solution in Liberia on Huawei Network

8:12 pm   -   February 9th, 2007

Leading technology and telecommunications solutions company Argent Networks, has deployed its Eclipse real-time data billing solution to Libercell, Liberia’s national telecommunications provider.

ArgentSDPâ„¢ and ArgentEclipseâ„¢ provide a fully converged solution and will provide Libercell with IN & NGN based pre-paid and post-paid voice and data billing, unified real-time rating and CRM for all mobile, fixed line, and value-added next generation services. ArgentEclipse will operate on a network supplied by Huawei Technologies and Ericsson Communications.

ArgentEclipseâ„¢ will have dual interconnects to both the existing Ericsson MSC and the new Huawei MSC providing 2.5G Edge billing for real-time convergent pre-paid and post-paid subscribers using the ArgentEclipse unified rating engine.

Larry Barker, CEO of Argent Networks says that with more than five times the number of mobile phones to fixed lines and increasingly more convergent data being used by Libercell’s many customers, Liberia is set to continue its rapid growth in its telecommunications networks.

“The ArgentSDP™ & ArgentEclipse™ unified real-time rating and billing solution will be rolled out across all of Libercell’s mobile, broadband, and next-generation network (NGN) services based on a Huawei platform, providing one rating engine, one CRM and converged prepaid and postpaid billing for all subscribers” says Barker.

Barker says that Huawei, China’s leading state-owned carrier provides next generation telecommunications networks, and has built the platform for Liberia’s telecommunication infrastructure to expand on the current Ericsson network.

“We have worked with Huawei elsewhere in the world including Africa and they are a leading telecommunications player with a commitment to building innovative and customized network products so we’re sure the deployment of Argent’s IN SDP and real-time converged voice and data billing for Libercell will provide Liberia with a solution that will create long-term value and opportunity.”

Mr Azzam Sbaity CEO and President of Libercell says “the partnership with Argent Networks has been a rewarding and successful partnership for both companies. Argent implemented the solution within 6 weeks providing Libercell with real-time rating for all of its data and voice services across the country. The ArgentEclipse™ solution gives us a solid foundation for growth. The interoperability with multiple MSC’s was important to us, and Argent through its SDP demonstrated their ability to process our traffic from both the Huawei and Ericsson network elements.”
