11:19 am   -   January 7th, 2009

Amdocs announced today that it is had been rated “Very Strong” in overall performance, market understanding, and offering strategy in operations support systems (OSS). The Gartner Dataquest report was published in November 2008, titled: “Dataquest Insight: OSS Market Overview and Strategic Scorecard for Vendors, 2008”, that offers guidance to providers on strategic OSS vendor sourcing.

Gartner evaluated primarily vendors with global presence and according to seven standard criteria, including market understanding, offering strategy, offered products and services, geographic resource and offering strategy, sales strategy, ability to respond to market changes and overall financial viability. The overall score is based on the scores for the different criteria.

“Amdocs OSS is helping service providers today to significantly reduce operational costs. We are also seeing significant success in helping customers reduce CAPEX with our innovative offering for delivering ‘just in time’ network plan and build,” said Michael Couture, head of Amdocs Global Marketing. “Together with our strong systems integration and consulting expertise, we offer ‘one-stop-shop’ accountability to our customers and can guarantee delivery and quick business impact.”

Amdocs was the first vendor to introduce a comprehensive offering spanning OSS, billing and customer relationship management (CRM). The Amdocs OSS offering was strategically enhanced through the acquisition of best-in-class OSS vendors Cramer and Jacobs Rimell, and reaches across planning, service fulfillment and assurance, as well as service and resource management.
