Amdocs Announces New Offerings for Growth Markets Around the World

9:47 am   -   February 17th, 2009

At Mobile World Congress 2009, Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced new and enhanced offerings to meet the needs of service providers in growth markets. These new offerings and enhancements to the Amdocs CES Portfolio are designed to enable service providers in both established and growth markets to introduce new products quickly, reduce risk and lower costs.

Customer Momentum in Growth Markets
Amdocs has demonstrated momentum in these growth markets with business- and operational-support systems (BSS/OSS) that support tens of millions of subscribers. In its fiscal year 2008, the company continued to attract new business in growth markets such as Eastern Europe, Russia/CIS, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Africa.

Publicly announced wins and deployments in fiscal 2008 in these growth markets include: ANTEL (Uruguay), Bakcell (Azerbaijan), Bulgaria Mobitel, Cellcom (Liberia), China Telecom, China Mobile, Claro (Brazil), Codetel (Dominican Republic), Eagle (Albania), Elion (Estonia), Flag Telekom (India), Guangdong Mobile (China), ITC (Ukraine), JSC Kazakhtelecom, Movilnet (Venezuela), Reliance (India), Slovak Telecom (Slovakia) Velton (Ukraine), True (Thailand) and XL (Indonesia). In addition, VimpelCom’s ArmenTel in Armenia recently deployed Amdocs billing and customer management products, and mobile virtual network enabler Effortel is using Amdocs to support a new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) offering in Taiwan.

Fueling Revenue for Service Providers in Growth Markets
With the challenges in today’s economy and the need to support convergence, new hardware and devices, service providers in growth markets are seeking to lower their operational costs and are racing to introduce services to outpace competition and grow their business profitably. These markets increasingly rely on low cost, modular software applications that can enable rapid introduction of new services and provide immediate value.

Today, Amdocs announces enhancements to its CES 7.5 Portfolio to include new pre-packaged software and services:

– Amdocs CES - Charging 7.5T - Now generally available, this is the company’s newest product for Intelligent Network (IN)-based, real-time, convergent charging. Based on a new rating technology, it provides a single architecture for real-time charging across any network, service or payment type. Amdocs Charging 7.5T is certified on low-cost blade servers to support massive subscriber and event growth and reduce the need for significant hardware investment. Amdocs’ internal benchmarking tests estimate that this “Turbo Charging” technology can deliver up to 700 percent performance improvements in rating and charging. In addition, its performance over low-cost servers can reduce up to 70 percent of charging hardware and software costs. This product supports service providers experiencing growth from predominantly low-spend, prepaid subscribers at low cost and with rapid time to market.
– Amdocs BSS (Business Support Systems) Pack - This solution includes pre-integrated business processes for ordering, charging, customer self-service and billing, including packaged order-to-cash business processes. Its pre-defined rating schemes and collection paths for mobile services, software-specific system integration services and support for third-party hardware are designed to enable rapid, low-risk deployments, up to and including 4G networks and beyond. Based on Amdocs’ implementation testing, it estimates that with this pre-packaged solution, service providers can reduce the cost of implementation by up to 60 percent.
– Click-to-Order Solution - This solution combines Amdocs’ ordering products with implementation services to allow service providers’ customer service agents to quickly and efficiently take orders placed through the contact center. The solution enables rapid product definition, pricing and bundling and, due to its ease of use, greatly reduces training costs. Amdocs’ internal testing estimates that this solution can reduce ordering errors by up to 50 percent and shorten order delivery time by 10 percent.
– Partner Settlement Interconnect Start Pack - This solution combines software that supports the settlement process between service providers and their partners with product-specific implementation services. It supports more than 30 pre-configured fixed and mobile, voice and short message service (SMS) interconnect business scenarios, and enables service providers to quickly and easily offer their customers third-party services that are not supported by their own networks.

In addition, the Amdocs Compact Convergence offering is designed to address the cost constraints service providers face in growth markets. This offering is a network-connected, integrated solution that includes convergent real-time charging, service delivery, next-generation Intelligent Network (a service-independent network) customer care and self care.
