Alcatel and Amdocs Cramer OSS Suite Selected by Telekom Austria

4:33 am   -   October 12th, 2006

Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NYSE: ALA) and Amdocs (NYSE: DOX - News), the leading provider of software and services to enable integrated customer management and the intentional customer experience(TM), today announced that they have been selected by Telekom Austria to deploy an integrated end-to end fulfillment solution to enable Telekom Austria to launch next generation services quickly. Alcatel will act as the prime integrator of Amdocs’ technology, which is based on the solution developed by Cramer, Amdocs OSS Division. The solution will be operational across Austria’s leading provider of telecommunications services later this year.

The joint fulfillment solution will leverage the Cramer OSS Suite and Alcatel’s industry-leading equipment and integration expertise to automate the end-to-end fulfillment of services for Telekom Austria, including “triple play” bundles of voice, video and Internet services. Alcatel and Cramer will deliver complete process automation based on a single inventory core, which allows carriers to accelerate service introduction, to fulfill large volumes of customer orders more quickly and accurately, and to dramatically reduce the total cost of ownership for their operations support systems (OSS). Cramer6 OSS Suite is the only OSS solution able to support service provider transformation without creating further fragmentation of the OSS environment, and can manage both old and new technologies simultaneously from a single platform — from service down to physical inventory, including cable management.

Helmut Leopold, Managing Director of Product and Technology Management for Telekom Austria, said, “A key strategic goal for our wireline business is to optimize costs and investments in the area of infrastructure and technology. With the Alcatel and Amdocs Cramer joint solution, Telekom Austria will have the required OSS platform to achieve flexibility and process performance as we expand to offer next generation broadband services.”

“The acquisition by Amdocs strengthened Cramer’s solutions and made Amdocs unique in its ability to help service providers transform their OSS environments to meet demand for new services,” said Guy Dubois, president of Cramer, Amdocs OSS Division. “As providers move toward next generation networks and services, they view Amdocs as the essential, integrated platform to execute, accelerate and realize their strategies for market leadership.”

Stephane Terranova, President of Alcatel’s integration and services activities commented, “This contract is an important milestone for Alcatel. As telecom operators are looking to reinvent themselves transitioning towards value-added service providers, together with the new Amdocs we are well positioned to become their partner of choice. Amdocs and Alcatel offer integration services experience and a transformation management program.”
