AAPT Chooses Amdocs CES 7.5 Software for Mediation

11:12 am   -   December 15th, 2008

Multiple mediation systems to be replaced by Amdocs to speed introduction of new offerings and address current and future customer needs

Amdocs announced today that AAPT selected Amdocs CES 7.5 software for mediation and error management. Amdocs will replace several of AAPT’s legacy voice and data mediation systems and provide system integration services and ongoing product support and maintenance.

Mediation is the process of collecting usage data, processing the data into information which is meaningful for different business and operation support systems (for example, billing), then distributing this information to those systems. AAPT will deploy Amdocs Mediation to support different lines of business and enable the rapid introduction of new services, new charging models and next generation networks such as Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). By deploying Amdocs for error management, AAPT can increase efficiency in the analysis and correction of data errors.

“Following a detailed assessment of current and future business requirements, we’re very confident in selecting the Amdocs Mediation software for all of our enterprise mediation functionality,” said AAPT’s David Yuile, GM Network and Technology. “We look forward to partnering with Amdocs to deploy this technology across our business.”

Fully owned by the Telecom New Zealand Group, AAPT is one of only three Tier 1 telecommunications providers in Australia, operating its own national voice and data network.
